Four years wasted, NZ going down the gurgler, Govt finally takes action

Finance Minister Bill English has further tightened the screws on the Government's finances, signalling cuts to future new spending provisions to help bring the Budget back into surplus

National finally acts on the economy, four years too late.

New Zealand is one of the most indebted countries in the world

Should have taken this decisive action long ago to halt the highly visible death spiral.

the Government would maintain a balanced approach by "keeping up entitlements to welfare ... continuing with large programmes like Working for Families and interest-free student loans"
Unfortunately there are still a few elephants in the room that need to be shot.

welfare is a need. Not enough jobs. Arn't you being a bit harsh?

For some Maori in places like East Cape and the Far North welfare has been a 'need' for several generations now.
Doesn't stop them drinking, smoking, using weed and having kids though.

So KG, let them starve and kids suffer?

Yep, as long as you don't cut KG's pension. He's an entitled bludger.

Sigh...morons abound. KG does not receive a pension. Break the habit of a lifetime and get your facts right before opening your mouth.
Let them starve and the kids suffer? You mean more than they're suffering now, being beaten, sexually assaulted and going hungry while their "parents" drink and smoke? Or perhaps you mean people who look after their own kids, take responsibility for their own lives should be mugged in order to subsidise lowlife scum?

I find it interesting that leftist filth almost always comments as "Anonymous"...perhaps that means at some level in your reptilian brains you're actually aware of what contemptible pieces of shit you actually are?
But I wouldn't bet on it. :)
