Defence cuts on the way? [updated]

Overheard that Defence is looking to do another Quigley. I well remember him going through the Forces late-80's looking to save a dollar or two for Lange. Orificers looked after themselves, being retained for life, whilst the real non-commissioned workers on the coal front were pared to the bone. Ships particularly suffered in manning and deployments for the next decade. Then along came Liarbour and again he had a hand in killing off the Air Force.

Word is that a rout of the expensive 30 year plus types with their extensive experience and corporate knowledge are about to drawn from the hat en-masse. "People are our greatest resource". Bollocks, always remember you are just another number to the bloody bean counters.
