Shortened odds

The caped Crusader breaks the drought.
storming from behind when seemingly all was lost

Indeed. All those in local councils and gummint with billions invested wasted in public transport and hosting the great game next year must be feeling really good about that result. Losers, the lot of them.

Wondering if Mr Key will be shortening his chances at the polls? Maybe go early?

Where's Shrek when you need him?

activists were circulating emails calling for a protest march to drive home their opposition to the bill, which replaces Labour's Foreshore and Seabed Act

Not content with their over inflated perception of self-worth, the 'haters and wreckers' are eager to do it all over again. To get 'a better deal' at the expense of every non-native New Zealander. And yes, the rabble I saw those few years ago marching through the high street in my local town holding up traffic did look like a wrecking crew. I have always thought they were well named by her indoors.

Indeed, it is time for Shrek to make his mark again.

Shades of things to come?

the roadway is private and has asked Mr Hall, as a commercial operator, to pay a fee - otherwise he is trespassing

A commercial operator is priced off crossing private land, whilst locals continue to do so for free. Nothing wrong with that, property rights reign. Except if you have the slightest whiff of being commercial (read not of the ethnic brotherhood), you will pay. The bros will find a way round free public access. Not to mention the hidden threats Joe Public will have to endure exercising that access. Of course nothing will ever be proven otherwise.

I've consulted other iwi leaders to inform them of what we intend to do and there is good support for me taking this position while the Maori Party is here

The locals out East are getting uppity again fearing the backroom deal being done with the separatists is not kosher enough. Not enough to open the way to direct ownership via wrongly perceived customary rights. Rights that were signed away 170 years ago when all New Zealanders became British subjects. I wonder if they will organise another march of 'haters and wreckers'?
people who went in the forest for kai and firewood were being served trespass notices

Rightly so. Property rights reign in the pine trees under new management. Forests I believe that should be still Crown property. Used to pillaging Crown property, the locals are now trespassing on privately held lands and are being served with trespass notices. Funny how it is not liked when the boot is on the other foot. Shades of things to come?
John Key should explain why tribal ownership of Te Urewera National Park is "evil"?

And these separatists hell bent on secession really want to know the answer to that question?

"from greatness to mediocrity"

There is no truth in that...

Lazarus is about to rise from Christchurch rubble.

Side show over, now to address the real issue

So John Boy has spent $30M or something close of our money usurping our sovereignty, paying for some overseas private company to make a movie that was probably never going to leave NZ. And some laws are going to get a minor tweak to clarify employment things.

Not the real issues. The real issue is that unions are able to operate in such a manner as to endanger an industries that we as NZ Inc depend on to get us out of a recession and to trade in global markets.

The recent play by the unionised has cost this country dearly. IMNSHO, nothing short of industrial terrorism. Terrorists individually that should be brought to book, along with the unions that enabled this fiasco. And unions should be outlawed.

Eh?

I'm just not going to write out cheques that New Zealand can't afford

Eh? That wouldn't be the same as the cheque you regularly write to overseas lenders to the tune of $250M each month? Borrowing a $1Billion every month for easily fixed unnecessary gummint spending?

Or the same as the $1.7B cheque recently written for your mates at SCF?

Obviously your definition of affordability differs to mine Mr Key.

Spreading tentacles of bureaucracy

The MOH is desirous of creating a whole new bureaucracy through which to spread their tentacles of officialdom.
One in five New Zealanders has unsafe or unregistered drinking water, a Ministry of Health survey shows.

I wonder how long before a health Nazi turns up with a clipboard in hand to look at my unregistered 10,000 gallon water collection system? Why suddenly a cause-celebre now? Just another Liarbour MP stirring the pot looking for traction in the polls.

Real tasty rain water here, nothing wrong with it all. Just now and then the odd flush of bird-shit and roof dust goes into the tank. Leaf matter, whole birds and possums are filtered out.

Only in Britain!

Well, maybe not only in the Mother Country.

Fresh off the wire...

IDIOT SIGHTING #1

My daughter and I went through the McDonald's take-out window and I
gave the clerk a £5 note. Our total was £4.20, so I also handed her a
Twenty pence piece.
She said, 'you gave me too much money.'
I said,'Yes I know, but this way you can just give me £1 back.'
She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my
request. I did so, and he handed me back the 20 pence and said 'We're
sorry but they could not do that kind of thing.' The clerk then
proceeded to give me back 80 pence in change..

Do not confuse the clerks at MacD's.

IDIOT SIGHTING #2

We had to have the garage door repaired. The GARADOR repairman told us
that one of our problems was that we did not have a 'large' enough
motor on the opener.
I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one GARADOR
made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower. He shook his head and said, 'Lady,
you need a 1/4 horsepower.' I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4
and he said,
'NOOO, it's not. Four is larger than two..'

We haven't used Garador repair since. Happened in Moor Park ,Nr Watford
UK

IDIOT SIGHTING #3

I live in a semi rural area. We recently had a new neighbour call the
Highways Department to request the removal of the DEER CROSSING sign on
our road. The reason: 'Too many deer are being hit by cars out here! I
don't think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore.'

Story from Potters Bar , Herts , UK

IDIOT SIGHTING #4

My daughter went to a local Kentucky Fried and ordered a taco. She
asked the person behind the counter for 'minimum lettuce.' He said he
was sorry, but they only had iceberg lettuce.

IDIOT SIGHTING #5

I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an Irish airport
employee asked, 'Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your
knowledge?'
To which I replied, 'If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?'
He smiled knowingly and nodded, 'That's why we ask.'

Happened Luton Airport .... UK

IDIOT SIGHTING #6

The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it's unsafe to cross the
street. I was crossing with an intellectually challenged co-worker of
mine. She asked if I knew what the buzzer was for.. I explained that it
signals blind people when the light is red.
Appalled, she responded, 'What on earth are blind people doing
driving?!'

She is a Local County Councillor employee in Harrow , Middlesex , UK

IDIOT SIGHTING #7

When my husband and I arrived at Our Local Ford dealer to pick up our
car, we were told the keys had been locked in it. We went to the
service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock
the drivers side door. As I watched from the passenger side, I
instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was
unlocked. 'Hey,' I announced to the Fitter/Mechanic, 'its open!'
His reply, 'I know. I already did that side.'

This was at the Ford dealership in St Albans,Hertfordshire UK .

STAY ALERT!
They walk among us... and the scary part is that is they have the RIGHT
TO VOTE and REPRODUCE!

That didn't work, did it?

Police said they were "devastated" by the toll

A total waste of overtime for Mr Plod. All the threats in the world about drinking and speeding will not change the numbers of those chasing Darwin Awards.

We may have lost this battle to stop people dying needlessly on the roads, but the war will continue

Aaah, more of the same I see, Mr Revenue Gatherer? The relentless floggings will continue...

History as it was

a seldom heard New Zealand perspective of WWII sublimely told

I can relate to the story being told about the three times of war. Before the War, After the War and During the War, a secret place which was never spoken of. My own father never revealed much about his bit for King and Country during his war in the Murmansk convoys other than the weather.

A great DVD for a Monday night to replace the crap TV, well worth watching. Home By Christmas by Gaylene Preston. And the extra features are worth having a squiz at.

The language of socialists

"... the nation's largest city, home to about 190 ethnic communities ..."

Lovely. Wonder what the relevance is in having those of ethnicity individually defined. And I thought Len's Super Shitty was to be the nirvana of one big happy community?

Mr Orsman, would those ethnic communities you speak of be like
  • Westie bogans and others from South Auckland, who vote for more of the same in handouts?
  • Those in Mangere, 'only guilty of helping'?
  • Those in Papatoetoe, 'lets's see how many we can fit into one address'?
  • Hobbit hobbling actresses and unions?
Anyway, you get my drift.

Nice to see the MSM is assisting Len with his all inclusive Orklund. But there is nothing inclusive about the language of socialists, only wedge politics.

Re-engaging terrorists

I'll let you know in due course

Of course he will let us know. When he has sufficiently engaged another bunch of separatists and would-be terrorists, in another sordid back-room deal not open to public scrutiny, to get National re-elected.

Yes, that is when he will tell us the bad news.

Unions hobbling Hobbits

Actors' Equity is seeking a collective agreement and has asked its members to boycott the two Hobbit films.

One of these days I hope that actors and actresses (yes, in my view they still exist) will stand up for themselves. And not be beholden to archaic manipulative bastard unions.

Liarbour: Just think of VSM as a new tax!

Live on Parliament TV.

Shearer just finished a 5 minute incoherent rant in the bear pit. Suggests students should not think of compulsory association fees as an expense, but as a necessary tax.

Liarbour's answer to everything. Tax the shit out it!

"Answer this question once and for all"

Mythbusters is off to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue next week.

In the episode, we're brought to the White House and the President asks us to answer this question once and for all

Fortunately it is not to admire/sample Michelle's garden produce grown in contaminated soils.

Maybe Adam and Jamie could ask the impostor that question to which we all want an answer. That of the Kenyan's birthright.

"He will learn from experience"

You are just a liar, you are bullshitting.' I went on and he stopped [me] again: 'You're just lying, you are misleading us.

A union organiser with minimal experience caught blatantly lying to a select committee. Wondered which socialist trough the recent school-leaver had gone to. Obviously destined never to be employed in a proper job.

said the list MP used "bullyboy tactics" by interrupting his submission and accusing him of lying about his evidence in "a bit of a tirade

Now wants an apology from honourable member Tau Henare for climbing down his neck.

Mr Henare said he would not apologise. "Why would I apologise for a little turkey who got found out lying? He was reading out a submission and I was following it and in two parts ... it was a completely different story.

"He'll get over it and if he doesn't, well, then, too bad ... He'll learn from his experience."

As if that will happen.

Labour MP Carol Beaumont, who sits on the committee, said she was concerned about how Mr Sleep was treated.

The boy's employer weighing in, spinning the union line. And Tau's fitting response?
Quite frankly, who cares what Carol Beaumont says

The dangers of overseas outsourcing

Its central pressure was measured by reconnaissance aircraft to have plunged as low as 893 mb

For all those New Zealand companies with call centres outsourced to the depths of a Manila slum, I wonder how customer support will be over the next week.

An endangered species?

teachers had unrealistic expectations and their behaviour was not justified

Teachers. Results to date prove their worth. Overpaid babysitters. And unionised.

I hate it when students are used for political purposes

What else can I say?

Titanic deckchairs

The headline screams

Labour to shake up benefit system

Good, but why do I get an uneasy feeling. Something like this - all those tens of thousands of work-shy beneficiaries Liarbour hid in sickness benefits last decade are about to suddenly regain full health under their next watch. And rejoin the dole bludgers queue.

Anything to make NACTional to look bad.

Upcoming fun - tickets on sale now

An Oz company is about to dig holes in some of our bush. All rape and pillage of some windswept stunted scrub no doubt. I can hear the screams from the unwashed already.
This week, the Overseas Investment Office gave Australia-based Bathurst Resources the green light to make significant headway on its plans to develop an opencast coalmine next to Solid Energy's Stockton site on the West Coast

Time to pull up the armchair.
You have to protect some of those areas before they disappear

This should be top entertainment as feral tree huggers and other rabid marxists chain themselves various items like train tracks, trying to stop 5000 tonne coal trains.

Be very, very, very afraid

* Media are regulated by standards of ethical reporting, such as being balanced and fair.

* Bloggers, tweeters and other internet users are not regulated beyond the law, and the Government is concerned about the adverse effect this could have on the justice system

The gummint concerned with free speech? Politicians wrestling with ethics and morals? Pull the other one.

More like a case of 'do unto others...' has come home to roost.

Indeed, be very, very, very afraid.

The long arm of the law

A today in history post at HP brings the anniversary below. An anniversary reminding the government that the matter of these terrorists still has not been resolved three years on. And looks likely to never happen. When are the required law changes going to happen Mr Power-Lust?

'Anti-terror' raids in Urewera

Citing the Terrorism Suppression Act, police arrested 18 people in nationwide raids linked to alleged weapons-training camps in the Urewera mountain ranges, near the township of Ruatoki in eastern Bay of Plenty.

In addition to raids in Ruatoki and nearby Whakatane, search warrants were also executed in Auckland, Wellington, Palmerston North and Hamilton. The raids followed 12 months of police surveillance of activist groups ranging from environmentalists to Maori separatists. Around 300 police, including members of the Armed Offenders and anti-terror squads, were involved in the raids. They seized a small number of guns and 230 rounds of ammunition.

Among those arrested was veteran Tuhoe activist Tame Iti. Police claimed Iti was involved in running military-styled training camps in the Urewera Ranges and was planning a guerrilla war to establish an independent state on traditional Tuhoe land. The Solicitor-General subsequently decided that there was insufficient evidence to lay charges under the Terrorism Suppression Act, although 16 people faced weapons charges.

Those arrested were released on bail within a month of their arrest. Depositions hearings to determine whether they should stand trial did not begin until September 2008. On 17 October Judge Perkins ruled that all but one of those arrested in the raids be committed to trial on various firearms, weapons and explosives charges. The accused were remanded on bail to appear back in court in February 2009, indicating a lengthy legal process to determine the outcome of these raids.

The Urewera's had experienced similar police action before. In April 1916 a large force of heavily armed constables was sent to arrest the Tuhoe leader Rua Kenana. Shooting broke out and two Maori, including Rua's son, were killed. Rua's trial in the Supreme Court was one of the longest in New Zealand's legal history. He was found not guilty of sedition, but guilty of resisting arrest and sentenced to one year's hard labour, followed by 18 months’ imprisonment. The presiding officer, Judge Chapman, commented that Maori needed to learn that the law "reached every corner" of the land. Eight members of the jury later publicly protested the harshness of this sentence.

Can we expect any action on these terrorists? I suspect not, as the separatists are NACTional's best friends at present.

Unfortunately, there remain some that need to be forcefully reminded that the law does indeed reach into the furthest corners of this land.

Election bribe one gone: - "No free lunch"

There is no free lunch when it comes to any of this stuff

Lying Len gets put in his place by Smile and Wave over his pie-in-the-sky dreams of a trainspotters utopia in Orklund. Rightly so, the gummint is giving notice. No Banks, no money. There's more than one way of skinning the cat!

Music to my ears. The first and biggest election bribe gone. Let's see if he can get that sort money out of ratepayers!

Unions demanding ransom - Quote of the Day

Actually it is two quotes.
Christ, I hope no -one finds a racial angle in any of this. If they do, we are stuffed.

Do Hobbits come Indian style?

Meanwhile, an 87 member union is holding NZ to ransom.

The dog is unleashed?

Rodders back to his usual self, fresh off the Super Shitty leash. That sales pitch was usurped by the Liarbour spin doctorate as every possible socialist thief was elected on Saturday. Bloody Orklunders deserve every rates increase they get from Lyin Len.
John Key is Prime Minister because of Epsom ... Without Epsom there's no Act. Without Act, Helen Clark would still be Prime Minister.

Act leader Rodney Hide has sent a message to the National Party, saying it could lose power if it fails to give him an easy ride in the Epsom electorate next year.

the Government's handling of the foreshore and seabed issue would lead to "a proliferation of iwi-owned beaches. That's not what New Zealanders want. And [Treaty Negotiations Minister] Chris Finlayson and the National Party have no mandate to deliver it.

there was nothing to prevent iwi with customary title charging for access to beaches and said it would give politicians the power to cut back-room deals with iwi rather than leaving it to the transparency of the courts

With nothing to lose, I feel the dog has been unleashed and has a do or die target. About time, the political landscape is in need of a serious rev up.

Your move, Smile and Wave...

it's time for the Prime Minister to grow some hair on his chest, start to get informed and stop being so PC

Exactly!
He's the Prime Minister, he's not some pussy that the Labour Party decided to plant in the National Party so I'd say to the Prime Minister get back to watching the rugby and worry about being so overtly politically correct when the rest of the country needs you to show some real leadership around the economy.

A real man tells the wimp to get on with doing what he does best. Nothing. Fixing the economy has been proven to be well beyond him.

Now, if only Henry hadn't taken the soft option.

A rose tint?

A Liarbour endorsed local gummint candidate is arrested and charged with alleged electoral fraud. And gets name suppression in the dying days of an election. The party ducks for cover and quickly distances itself from the fray. Then we get this.

What I find even more irritating is that the Labour party allowed the use of their brand and obviously didn’t maintain sufficient control over the candidates using that brand. The subsequent actions of the local government commission in detecting the problem, the police in investigating it, and the Labour Party for assisting that investigation and stating their position appear to have been exemplary.

Outright bollocks. How's that for spin doctoring with the deepest red tint?

Petulant prick interviewed

From the transcript at KB;

DR BRIAN EDWARDS – Media Consultant and Commentator

Well I want to ask you a couple of things. I wonder first of all whether you think you deserved all the odium and contempt that was heaped on you about the travel business? That’s the first thing.

CHRIS Absolutely not.

BRIAN Oh okay. And the second thing I want to know is if Phil Goff hadn’t forced you into what was in the end quite a humiliating performance in front of all the journalists, your second apology if you like, would any of this happened?

CHRIS Probably not Brian because I would not have felt used as a scapegoat.

Unbelievable! Still will not admit to being a trougher. He felt used? What about the taxpayer?

Nothing but a petulant prick!

A contagion that needs to be eradicated

The local body elections continue.

Wellington and Dunedin, both large cities, still have no result. You see they use the STV method of ranking their choices, not First Past the Post like all the other right thinking electorates.

STV sounds like something you would not want to catch. And you definitely do not. It is indeed a contagion, an unfortunate disease that could be eradicated with the stroke of a pen. In this world there is only one winner and the rest are losers.

Tararua Results

Prelimary from Elections NZ

Mayor - Roly Ellis 2953 - 1703 ahead of ex Deputy-Mayor

North Ward: 4x required

Roly Ellis 2557 - new Mayor
Keith Fenemor 2065
David Roberts 1923
Brenda Dodunski 1898
Chris Southgate 1777

South Ward: 4x required

Warren Davidson 1955
Bill Keltie 1544
Shirley Hull 1469
Peter Johns 1338
and no David Lea - ex-Deputy Mayor thankfully

Most are returning councillors, making for a relatively easy transition. Only the top has changed. Pity the un-elected troughers in the next tier like the CEO can't be fired at election time!

Now for the real action on reducing rural rates!

Congratulations to Roly, you were the only candidate that got off his backside and visited every rural household in my area. And it was chucking it down that afternoon almost four months ago. Well done!

Your worst nightmare is unfolding

Results just in:

Lying Len has beaten Banks by a large margin.

God help Auckland. Your worst nightmare is unfolding. Liarbour is back at the helm.

NEWS FLASH: Early result in Super City!

The Editor at Granny Herald has written a vomit-inducing piece on the now ex-Mayor of Waitakere. (be warned, but you will have to find the link yourself).
Mayor Harvey gone!

I can add that after two decades of the eco-dinosaur with his rampant rate rises, pandering to rabid greenies and those of ethnicity looking for a place at the trough, I for one rejoice in seeing his departing backside. One can only hope today, the rest of his Liarbour mates are routed from the council troughs around the Super City.

Go John Banks!

Following the rule of law

A welcome thought today especially for those blouses and would be do-gooders in New Zealand wringing their hands over this upcoming deportation, I say get on with it. That is why we have laws.

Good to see another country has the cajones to get on with job in hand. Following their written rule of law.

Now for some dawn raids to clean out voters who support corrupt Liarbour.

Overstayers? Hell no, none in South Auckland!

"deeply disappointed"

The party line reads:
"deeply disappointed that a candidate standing under its name is being prosecuted for alleged irregularities in enrolments for the local body elections"

The unsaid line is:

"deeply disappointed that a candidate standing under its name has been caught red-handed for alleged irregularities in enrolments for the local body elections"

"You only pick on me because ..."

That didn't take long.

As is par for the departing, the soon to ex-MP for Te Atatu takes a last swipe at the taxpayers who have paid dearly for his overseas jaunts.

Time to pull up the armchair for the entertainment as he goes down swinging. Or, is it she airs the dirty laundry?

"One rogue candidate..."

I see the Two Hats Little has distanced himself from the fray.

Not that said candidates name can be mentioned here or in comments, due to ridiculous name suppression, but every association to date, prior to suppression, implicates Labour with with electoral corruption as an normal ongoing MO.

The she-beast's reign was one decade of electoral corruption in various forms. Never held accountable, covered with teflon. Should have been jailed on many counts. Recently we have a Labour lawyer type admitting to be sending emails usurping the electoral process. Makes some lame excuse, to cover the fact he was caught red-handed. Yesterday we have Little saying the arrested has Labour links, red pictures everywhere emblazoned with Vote Labour. Today, post-suppression, no links at all. How does that work Mr little? Cleaning your hands? "Nothing to see here, move along now ..."
Labour did not do police checks on all its members and although it did some background checking on people who put themselves up as candidates for national politics, the party head office did not control processes at local body level.

What a bunch of outright lies! Just how many unionists were trucked in for the recent Mana selection? How is the LEC Te Atatu selection progressing?

The only rogue I can see is the morally corrupt Labour Party is continually willing to usurp the electoral processes for their own fraudulent ends.

Coming for your soul...

A nation of lily-livered panty-waists - UPDATED

[UPDATE] - Gutless TVNZ fails to stand by their employee, suspending him. Obviously got at by the PC brigade.

A telly presenter, known to plumb the edges of what might be deemed to be politically correct, asks a few questions that no doubt, more than a few had often wondered. Only not aloud, on National TV and all.

Every hand-wringer in town is calling for his head and his job. He says what is needed to be said. Bluntly. IMNSHO, the only thing he has done wrong is to apologise. Meanwhile the head of the PC brigade, an import himself, refuses to castigate those of another ethnicity that make definitely racist utterances about white mofos.

What a nation of lily-livered panty-waists we have become. Victorian times, only a thousand times worse. A nation too scared to say what we really are thinking. A nation too scared to stand by what we utter.

We could do with 100 more in our media like our self-professed gypo presenter taking the knife to the nation.
