Key rolls over for natives

Key last night alleviated the Maori Party's greatest concern - that the Government would override any Maori interest over water with foreshore and seabed type law - by giving an assurance the Government would not legislate away their rights and interests.

Maori Party is claiming victory after last night's meeting with the Prime Minister over water rights

Unbelievable! Where's Don Brash when he's needed? Not content with delivering New Zealand beaches to the native minority, Key also promises the rivers to the racist separatists.

There is no limit to the pandering that the Nats will stoop for votes.

The Stuff report from which you quote has misrepresented what happened. From The herald:-

"...a pledge the Government would not legislate against any court decision upholding Maori rights and interests in water."

An entirely different matter, don't you think?

Yes, slightly different Adolf.

So your good Mr Key will do everything to stop natives getting ownership of the taniwha? I very much doubt it.

The rivers are as good as theirs as of last night. Just like the beaches.

Couldn't agree more PM.
Key seems hell bent on keeping power at any cost to the Country. Key should have had stuck to his governments professed principals that 'no one owns the water', and told the racist party to do their worst and walk away from Government if they weren't there for the good of the Country. As a nation we are becoming more divided down racial lines every day!!
Sorry but in my book all politicians are just prostitutes at the end of the day - selling their souls to keep their snouts in the trough.

PM, he was a,ways going to. Fact is, Finlayson and Turia took him out the back of the bike sheds and gave him a smack in the head to put him back in line.

This announcement is about as predictable as the Maori inventing some insult about 6 months out from the next election and tearing ul their deal with National.
