Another voter bribe offered

New Zealand First's announcement that Route K's $62 million debt could be wiped off the council's balance sheet if it forms part of the Government after the next election will no doubt have city councillors salivating

wants a coalition agreement to include the words: "The designation of Tauranga's Route K road as a fully state-funded state highway and the transfer of any associated council debt to Treasury."

Just another blatant bribe being offered.

Great, us long suffering TGA ratepayers could use the reprieve.

without Winston we would still be traveling on gravel roads unlike any other area. Funding our own motorway was the only way.
That's the Nats for ya.

This is not free money. If this spare road is paid for by taxpayers then a much needed road that actually gets produce off a farm or helps a young person get to work will not be paid for. yay for pork barrel politics!
