I was working on some of the first laser rangefinders in 1980. The NZ Army brought them for about $13k
I brought a laser 100 times more powerful than the one in the rangefinder on trademe for $23 last year.
Os, lasers are amazing devices which have come a long way over the years. I too worked with lasers in a past life, even qualified as a laser safety officer. Couldn't get a more accurate measuring/tracking device.
