Instead of replacing the narrow 50 year old motorway viaduct across the valley at a quarter of a billion dollars, nobody would miss it if the place was obliterated with fill from the cross-harbour tunnel. And the loss of the self-proclaimed Mare of Newmarket would be a good thing.
