So says the cook of one Jerry Mateparae, GG nominate on Close Up.
"An Army Orificer, gets a gong to go with it", I say. Never done a decent day's work in their life. Say no more.
So what does a GG do for NZ? Other than live in a flash house in Wellytown and consume yards of taxpayer's hard earnt wedge?
Answers on a postage stamp please.
Guess we'll get to see a lot more hakas and the like wasting everyone's time.

Spoken like a churlish prick,
churlish - "Of or pertaining to a serf, peasant"
Having been in such a position watching orificers abuse the serfs and climb over their own peers for the next promotion, for nigh on a quarter of a century, why should I or the cook have any other view?
"Churlish"? Because some people don't fall over themselves to tug the forelock to a person nobody bloody elected, whose new position is a further unnecessary and pointless imposition on the taxpayer, who almost nobody has heard of and who has very much more than likely been chosen because he's a non-controversial Maori?
If that's churlish, count me in.
I don't see what good a GG does.
Since the GG has to give royal assent to legislation one might think the role could be to prevent bad law.
The last one allowed an unlawful govt. to pass a law making itself lawful.
Exactly Anon. Purely a rubber stamper of legislation.
"one might think the role could be to prevent bad law."
What a singularly ridiculous statement. Define bad.
