Good taste versus bad taste

And didn't we see a lot of bad taste in the past few days.

On one side LA trash half-heartedly trying to stop a wardrobe malfunction, but not averse to displaying her wares to to hotel staff, whilst on the other side more trash, source unknown, actually brought here to display everything she has, but for an itsy-bitsy bikini. Well, maybe not so itsy.

I'm the first to admit that I don't get Fashion Week. But then, I'm a straight male. None of my gender nor sexuality remotely do. We don't understand the weird walks, the weirder clothes and the view that goodie bags are an end in themselves. But most of all, we don't understand the pretension. The cultish view that fashion is worthy of exclusive veneration, and that the more unwearable the garment then the more watchable it must be. In fact, the only bit we actually got were the size 16 models in the Carpenter's Daughter show, because that's exactly what our wives and girlfriends look like.

Michael with the silent 'h' sums up how I feel about the week.
It was entertainment and as divorced from the average wardrobe as Chelsea Charms is from your wife

This week's entertainment was just that: A lesson in poor taste.

WTF???

Yuk! Too early in the morning for a pic like that. Enough to make you heave.

No wonder young males in NZ top themselves if looking and acting like these mincers is the future for them.

Don't even let me get started on the central piece of trash. Rachael of Glenfield's long lost sister?

Victorian Craftsmanship and Artistry

There were all sorts of reasons not to go to the doctor back in the old days, back when their bags were full of mercury vials and hacksaws.

a time of great Victorian craftsmanship and artistry

A number of 'medical tools' can be found here.

Ladies, I bet you'd be hard pressed to guess what #7 pictured above might be used for.

Some more tools of the quackery trade are available here.

There is even a device at #6 to cure Barnsley Bills' issues and there are silver bullets for 'other' medication...

Bestiality and Granny

Granny Herald has this video gem.
Man charged with having sex with horse

Oh, Granny, I didn't know you had it in you.

I am sure y'all be wanting to hop right over there for a squiz. Yes, I know, purely for your own personal elucidation. Now to sit back and watch the hit rate climb.

Like Liarbour performing like a trained seal at the moment, you see, it is all about getting the hits!

Disclaimer: No animals were harmed in the posting of this post, although the horse's reputation has been sullied and does actually feature in the video.

No Californication earthquake

If gay marriage were to pass today, we would have seen the biggest earthquake in our state's history soon after. God doesn't miss around. He did the same with Sodom and Gomorrah, blew them off the map and they were homosexual cities. Thank you California for not letting history repeat itself today.

Top comment as the Supreme Court upholds voters wishes against legalising marriages between men shagging men. Soon to be 9000 quickie divorces to avoid alimony?

It turned out better than it could've been...

That's rugby, isn't it? It's all good.

Is it hell. Should such thuggish violence occur on the street the perpetrator would be whisked away to jail. But in the name of The Game, it's all good.

Some day in the future violent contact 'sport' will be outlawed not because of some legislation but because it will be no longer socially acceptable to inflict such injuries on fellow players.

How many youth cripples are there in NZ because "It's all good"? Or how many senior ex-players have serious mobility / long term injury issues because of their playing days of yore?

Could be a whole lot better, people. Your thoughts?

Journalism at its worst

MacDoctor might add it to his long list of Spam Journalism.

Whilst most were having sombre moments of reflection on matters past over the past few days, the Manawatu Standard slips in this puff-piece about a terrorist whose only possible claim to fame is that he gained back door entry to this country.

Lying with dogs...

So called celebs, as always full of their self worth being legends in their own lunchtimes, are complaining at having picked up fleas.

Don't worry, it won't smell like urine and will be tasty too

Just when you thought we were milking the cow for all it's worth, along comes a fresh idea:

cow urine as a fizzy drink.

That's one taste you can keep to yourself.

Speaking of odd tastes, I did wonder how CK knows what the taste of burnt sperm is like.

Reserve Bank stiffs increased user fees to rural users

direct charges will probably be significantly higher at ATMs in regional areas than metropolitan areas

The ultimate in tact and diplomacy. Whilst rural Australia is being razed, the RBA implements increased ATM fees for rural users.

Scratching the itch

New Years Honours for new members of The Order of Back Scratchers

Margaret Wilson
Steve Maharey
Paul Swain
Clem Simich

Selfless individuals poking a stick in your eye as a parting gesture.

Mark Prebble
Brian Corban

Others who have been 'rewarded' for their jobs. As is normal practice for these lists, I am sure there are many more detracting from those truly involved in community and country.

One can only be thankful that the list of back scratchers does not yet contain Clark or Cullen.

Words fail me...

Elderly man died, woman injured in crash

Teens stood and watched rescue

Sat down and got takeaway, says witness

They just stood there, and then they sat down and then someone dropped Maccas off to them.

Teens caring for fellow humanity.

Are you a morbidly curious onlooker?

Seems there are more than few when this turned up on a help blog.
Please help! I took my husband's i-phone and found a raunchy picture of him attached to an e-mail to a woman in his sent e-mail file

Wifey certainly found out it was so when she found a 'raunchy' pic of her husband's bits attached to an email to another female is his iPhone 's sent items.
When I approached him about this (I think that he is cheating on me) he admitted that he took the picture but says that he never sent it to anyone.

He claims that he went to the Genius Bar at the local Apple store and they told him that it is an i-phone glitch: that photos sometimes automatically attach themselves to an e-mail address and appear in the sent folder, even though no e-mail was ever sent.

He was quick off the mark to blame it on a glitch.
It was a close-up shot of him pleasuring himself taken at the exact moment of maximum pleasure.

It's such a good shot that one must wonder if he actually practiced it a few times before getting it right.

She said he must have plenty of practice to get the 'perfect shot'.

For the morbidly curious, proceedings are underway.

One hopes they will not be out for long. And that the right verdict is returned.

Sooo wrong

After watching TV One last night to the first ad break a sick programme about what some car lovers do with their cars, this pic and article is sooo wrong.

Very dodgy indeed were the car lovers. Mechaphiles by another name.

Virtual reality blurred

Some tart lost the plot when her virtual boyfriend in Second Life ditched her.
distraught after being dumped by her 'virtual' boyfriend, took matters - plus a Taser, air gun and a roll of duct tape - into her own hands

she tried to kidnap him at gunpoint from his workplace - failed

broke into the man's apartment armed with a Taser, a pair of handcuffs, a BB gun, her dog, and a roll of duct tape - he came home, fled and called 911

Nutjob wacko. Blurring the lines of virtual reality. Only in the USA.

Everyone has a price

A much touted treaty non-party has finally confirmed they too can be purchased.
It's the first deal Tuhoe has done with the Government in 168 years.

Maybe not with blankets, beads and muskets, but colonisation continues in the currency of the day after 168 years.

What's next on the agenda, now that they have suddenly stopped terrorist activities and changed tack to being capitalists? Independence? Sovereignity? SH1 tolls to pass through the likes of Tokoroa to Taupo?

Where will this farce end. Hopefully with Cullen gone at the end of the year, such settlements will cease.

A study in inertia

A, disliked by many, Mickey of Wanganui (or is that Fonganooe?) has been doing a study in inertia this morning. Like most other commentary in the leftie rag that is today's SST. Yes, Mr Plod did something far worse than running a 0800 Dial A Taxi service, it will forever be remembered for the institutional cowardice it displayed this week.

One thing that has surprised me is Raybon has gone nuclear while looking for better work stories. I always thought he was fervently on the other side along with all the other nutters who do not understand that we live in the atmosphere of a rather large reactor.

Drug company trying kill people again

The drug company, Parexel, that tried kill some Kiwi lab volunteers with unpredicted multiple organ failures a few years ago, has hospitalised more test subjects in a new trial reported here.

News of the new trial has angered lawyers and victims of the earlier experiment.

They say Parexel has never accepted responsibility for the disaster nor assured the public it has taken steps to prevent a similar tragedy happening again.

Martin Day, of solicitors Leigh Day who are acting for four of the victims, said: “This is widely acknowledged to be the worst drug trial disaster in living memory.

“Parexel has never apologised or accepted liability although the case against them in terms of negligence is overwhelming.

“It’s appalling that despite this the US company can come over here to use our people in this way. Until they publicise the fact they have learned lessons, serious questions hang over whether they are fit to operate.”

Victims of the Elephant Man trial are still awaiting proper compensation. The company has so far given two interim payments of £10,000...

The company has been recently cleared of wrongdoing with a whitewash report.
The cause of the reactions was most likely “an unpredicted biological action of the drug in humans”.

Amazing that people will still subject themselves to this for money. Meanwhile one of the original volunteers is still really crook.

Full of self import

The vociferous native warbler has really got up my nose this week with her comments.

Full of being "God's Gift" to all those who vocalise for a living, she suggested that another is not even in one's same league.
She's not in my world, she's never been in it at all.

T
hey are all fake singers, they sing with a microphone.

People call them up and coming but they never last.

Really? More, like you have in the past and also your mate Howie opined a while back, you truly show what you are. Ten blocks up yourself. What is it with people like you that feel the raw urge to talk down to the masses?

To quote yourself 'You are nothing.'
