$20 is all Genesis thinks it's slighted customers are worth.
But is considering more compo. Read 'if you don't make much more noise, that's all you will get.' Ta, very much.
16 out 182 with medical problems? Pull the other one. Unintended consequences of stupid law protecting idiots from personal responsibility more like it.

'Emery deserved a medal'
a neighbour who wanted to be known only as John for fear of reprisal said Emery deserved a medal for what he did, and called him a hero.John, who had his home vandalised with graffiti six times last year, said tagging used to be a "massive problem" on the street but had "stopped overnight" since the stabbing.
"Emery did what the police and city council failed to do, and for that he deserves a medal, not a jail sentence."
I am sure more than a few property owners feel the same way.

Parting shots by Madame Sanlu
The chairwoman of the Chinese dairy company that sold fatally contaminated infant milk formula says she acted on information supplied by Fonterra. As Madame Sanlu contemplates life on the inside, she is trying to take down others associated with her. When the contamination was discovered, Fonterra says 'absolutely not' to any melamine contamination, but she made the decision to continue below EU guidelines. Her problem.
I daresay the Asian Tiger will not be losing face to an external country with an FTA over this matter. But I do wonder what value will NZ farmers will lose as this saga continues. Fonterra, like Sanlu, is unfortunately fast becoming a brand countries will not want any part of. That has the potential to be really bad news for NZ.
If there had been documentation to repudiate such verbal claims as in the article, why hasn't Fonterra publicly advertised such? Possibly the claims are true and they are more than likely well implicated. Very damaging the view from here.

Piracy on the high seas
Ferry users from down on Waiheke island are angry that a transport operator seeks to recover costs in true user pays fashion to maintain a profitable business. A captive audience these yuppies from the island backwater that need to commute to service their large mortgages and lifestyles.
Commuters are now looking for other Jafaland ratepayers to stump up for their chosen isolationist lifestyle. They want a subsidy from the ARC - Orklund Robbery Co. To hell with that, I believe the only choice would be that all public transport, including that on the mainland, was fully funded by the user, not the ratepayer cash cow.
If you can't afford the cost of transport, do not live on an island. Commuters may liken the charges to piracy, but I say the true cost of your carbon footprint is rightly being sheeted home.
Harden up, user pays is the only way to go.

Recruit Stables: You are a loser!
Half-pie watching Shock Treatment on TV2. Just seen shock jock Stables quit in less than 24 hours at a Jamaican Defence Force boot camp on a TVNZ reality show. Wouldn't even get his hair cut. Prepared to let his fellow recruits suffer because of his lack of courage.
No personal fortitude or ability to withstand discipline. What a loser. He displays all that is wrong with the woofters we call men these days.
The sidekick Candy Lane seems to doing better. Stables, fancy letting a female beat you and take the easy way out by quitting. What a sad example for a NZ male.
Yes, John Boy's boot camp is definitely required to put some spine and discipline to the NZ jellyfish. Maybe a legend in his own lunchtime, certainly not in my view.
Harden up.

A man of words on consequence
In a speech, Sir Brian Lochore has lambasted the PC world in which we live.
This man of words puts it all down to a lack of respect.
So right on the money. A clip round the lughole or 'wait until your father gets home' never did any harm. Rules define the limits. Cross the line, expect consequences.
Just like voting.
political correctness is destroying New Zealand
urged fathers to let their children take risks - but to lay down rules and impose "consequences" if rules are broken
society was turning fathers into "male mothers" obsessed with safety instead of adventure
We are living in a PC world which is destroying us, where you actually can't put the hard word on people when they have digressed and committed bad blunders
This man of words puts it all down to a lack of respect.
Respect and role models are very important in life.
You as a father, with the aid of your partner - I can't say 'wife' these days, PC.
You are the one who sets the ground rules.
And don't ever tell me that the kids don't want to know where the line is. They do.
So right on the money. A clip round the lughole or 'wait until your father gets home' never did any harm. Rules define the limits. Cross the line, expect consequences.
People have to make decisions, and people do make mistakes. But make sure that you take action - that there are consequences, and that you actually follow them through.Yes, decisions with consequence. Personal responsibility.
Just like voting.

Deliberations underway
An item that caught my eye.
While I await the outcome of coronial deliberations from the inquest into personal responsibility, I see that Whale's mate, Breasel is awaiting a slightly different outcome.

Mr Sheehan said the family would await the coroner's report before deciding if it wanted to take legal action on any other matters.Yes, I smell money, although I did get the distinct impression from proceedings that the DHB seems has been lined up to take the fall.

Personal responsibility
Although I do not hold any hope of a coroner issuing anything other than a diplomatically worded summary couched in legalese, this inquest starting today will hopefully define where personal responsibility lies.
At the time of the misadventure, very capable people stood by, some singing songs and watched the woman die after being disconnected for not paying their power bill. Then Whale's union mate, the 'family friend' stepped forth and proceeded to let fly, railing against the SOE power supplier, trying to garner political kudos. So much so, her indoors dropped everything, attending the funeral and was thus rightly accused of 'corpse chasing'.
Yes, it will be very enlightening to see the outcome. A healthy dose of personal responsibility is what more than a few could do with.

Rudeness
It’s part of the breakdown in society. We stopped having respect for figures in authority – partly because those in authority didn’t command it.
Worst rudeness listed below,
- Spitting
- Swearing
- Queue jumping
- Not saying please or thank you
- Playing an MP3 in public
- Passing wind/belching in public
- Speaking loudly on a cellphone in public
- Inconsiderate driving
- Not giving up your seat for a pregnant woman
- Not holding the door for the next person
- Update from Keeping Stock: Choosing to speak in your native tongue when you're perfectly capable of speaking English and surrounded by English-speakers
Just how many do you indulge us with?

Priorities?
While most might forgo a $10K holiday financed by a loan shark with penalties at 36%, this loser stands to lose his home.
An obvious case of failing to prioritise the $6K needed to pay the mortgage.
Also, must have purchased at the top of the market, because you could be hard pressed to find a house in that location worth $290K.
