Updated: White Ribbons

Roarprawn has written a touching piece on domestic abuse.

Update:

Seems there are more than a few males out in the blogosphere who may have never experienced domestic abuse and violence. No, I will not link to them, but for those lucky enough to never had such experiences, rubbishing the ribbon campaign does not help.

The campaign reminded me of my childhood experiences and I have commented on such over at Roarprawn. BB has experienced abuse much more recently and writes with feeling on the subject. Well done BB, we need more of this out in the open.

Those of you lucky to have never been in the situation, don't knock it.

Shocking behaviour by ego polisher

After being funded by taxpayers to the tune of around $45K for a jolly at the five ringed circus, the self styled 'Queen' Bea has dragged herself into the gutter.

A senior member of the team and no doubt a role model for some aspiring atheletes, she has done herself, the team and NZ no favours after publicly tripping over her ego.

Offensive and galling. Confirms what is said about sore losers.

Hopefully she does not make future events and retires with much more grace.

ps: I know I wasn't going to post on the circus, but this really got up my nose.

Cock crows

Has taken a week, now his mates are publicly ditching him.
It's despicable. I've never been one to condone violence, especially violence against women. In my book it is a no no.

I think the alleged cover-up didn't do him any favours

People deserve a second chance. I've seen Tony, he's absolutely remorseful, he went to counselling to get help.

Given the nature of the claims that have been made, we feel we need more information than may be currently available to us

Three times the cock crowed, didn't it?

Update:
Fired from jobs. I wonder he will do the gentlemanly thing and donate his golden handshake to the aggrieved party?

Veitch broke her back

Not man enough to admit it, he has gone to ground. This will not go away, you will have to face the music.

I wonder how much his two other dickhead mates on GOTH know and have kept quiet. How long before we see a public disclaimer from those two when their income stream abruptly ceases?

Criminally tragic.

Update:

He has admitted the assault years after the event.

Damage minimisation by any other name. Too late to be called anything else.

Government on spin cycle

Cang'zhoigar said that the country's preferential policies had helped her family. A housing program that began in 2006 enabled her family to build a two-story, seven-bedroom house with a subsidy of 14,000 yuan (about 1,870 U.S. dollars). They also had aone-hectare farm that was tax-exempt, with a government fertilizer allowance.

Very nice, the all providing socialist state machine is to be muchly thanked for all in her life. All is sweetness and light till this headache.
Cang'zhoigar was named as a suspect in the riot that killed five people, destroyed 23 shops, burned a house and two fire engines, and smashed a police car.

"On that night, I heard people shouting loudly outside and I joined them, hurling stones at police officers and destroying shops," said Cang'zhoigar, a mother of two.

Yes, she is now a named criminal against the state for wishing to throw out the foreign Chinese overlords who infest Tibet with their version of democracy. So much repenting is going on she now says
"I didn't know what was going on but followed their suit blindly. I really regret it," she said tearfully.

Yes, the errors of her ways have been obviously pointed out so she is now the poster child for the state on spin cycle.

My guess is we will hear no more of her as her state given house and the free fertiliser subsidy for the farm is removed and her family instead receives a bill for a lead aspirin to cure her headache.

I suppose this is their version of the the 'sub-prime' mortgage scenario over there, where the state forecloses the mortgage for you when you are not a 'good' borrower.

Update:

Yet more - on high speed spin over here. I wonder what WOBH would make of the IP addresses freely given here as being from 'good' netizens?

Boycott soon?

Whilst the most of the world key players roundly condemn China for murdering its citizens in the streets, her indoors lamely suggest we await 'more accurate info'.

What a fence-sitting response. Does she think these abusers, expert in looking good, will deliver anything but the diluted message they want us to see?

I expect nothing less when she is about to sign NZ over to the human rights abusers that are the Chinese Government. She wants her name etched in ink as the first to sign.

Next she will be muttering about sport should not be involved with politics. The two are inextricably linked, just like the power play that went on over rugby in SA. We should have never gone then, as we should not here. An international boycott is the only way.

The Tibetans have only one chance and these games are where they stand or die as a nation invaded some years ago by China. Unfortunately I do not like the odds when we have fence sitters like her indoors.

There is no need to sign a FTA in ink, Helen your name is being permanently etched in Tibetan blood as you procrastinate on this matter.

Human rights abuse!

I wonder if the Commissioner spotted anything in the text that protects the long suffering ratepayer from continued human rights abuse such as wallet rape.

According to this gem by LGNZ (see pdf here with detail), rates over the next decade are set to rise 60% to cover the grandiose schemes already mooted by councils and in Waitakere's case more plaques.

I wonder how much these plaques and pictures with Bob's name on them have cost the ratepayer? Really, if any one needs to abuse their own human rights by wading through the UN charter - it is far easier to look it up on the interweb thing! Ratepayers do not need tiddly pictures, with a plaque and a poem by some no doubt handsomely paid iwi in the Mayors mausoleum.
